Wills, inheritance tax, probate and trusts
Our team of Sheffield based, family solicitors understand that losing a loved one is a difficult and emotional time. Unfortunately there may be numerous legal arrangements to be made following bereavement, including obtaining the documents needed to administer the estate and liaising with the Revenue over inheritance tax that can only add to the stress for the family and the Executors.

We're here for you
We can provide legal advice and assistance to ease the burden, giving you all the support you need at what can be a bewildering time, guiding you through the whole process with as little fuss and stress as possible.

First steps; wills and inheritance tax
From advice on what to do immediately following death and the duties of the executor of a will to sorting out inheritance tax and dealing with disputes, our experienced solicitors will handle everything efficiently and professionally, and with the respect and compassion you and your family deserve.

Inheritance Disputes
Unfortunately after a death, disputes can sometimes arise mainly between family members about such things as the will, how the estate is to be divided, decisions taken by Executors, the deceased’s assets etc.
Those sort of disputes require experienced and specialist help and advice. Both Nick Lambert and Stephen Thompson in our Dispute Resolution Team have considerable experience in representing people involved in any type of inheritance dispute. Read more here...

Wills and probate solicitors
Our Wills, Trusts & Probate team has a wealth of experience in the drafting of wills and trusts and in the administration of the estates. Our friendly team can also advise on all aspects of inheritance tax planning for the individual and on Court of Protection procedures, including the appointment of Deputies to look after the affairs of the elderly or disabled and the creation and registration of Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Trusts
We can also advise and assist you in the creation and administration of all types of trusts, whether arising from a Will, or for the preservation of family assets, for tax planning, for looking after the affairs of disabled persons or managing compensation payments received for personal injury. You can be confident you’re in safe hands as our team of trust specialists are also members of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
